Peace Out Skincare

Throughout the final quarter of 2023, plenty of notable products came to market. Practicality and ease of use were common themes as Hally introduced the Brow Pal, and Lip Lab debuted the Sketch & Shade Precision Cream Lip Liner. Products that ignited the senses were also popular, as demonstrated by No Noses Inc.’s Crumb Couture candle and Whind’s Marrakech Silk Exfoliating Jelly Body Balm. Outlining the best of Q4, BeautyMatter highlights the products that caught our editorial team's attention:

Sophie Pitt, Editorial Associate:

“The 7 Virtues Cherry Ambition stood out to me in Q4. Aside from enjoying the nose-provoking scent, the message of the product captured my interest. I like that the fragrance is positioned as the ‘scent of success,’ encouraging wearers to wear it when they hope to succeed; making the product and its brand one that consumers turn to with memories of achievement and pride. Peace Out Skincare’s Early Stage Acne Dot was a stand-out for me. As a big lover of acne dots on the whole, I like that products are now coming into play that help to tackle the issue promptly, as opposed to once the acne has surfaced. No Noses Crumb Couture Candle brings food and beauty back to the point of conversation once again. Having always loved croissants and the scent of a bakery, nothing makes more sense to me than to turn this scent into a candle; I strongly enjoy being able to make my apartment smell of croissants 24/7. Finally, I enjoyed Hally’s Brow Pal as it significantly reduced the time it takes to do a full face of makeup, and now a good eyebrow day can last me almost a week—it's a win–win.”

The 7 Virtues: Cherry Ambition Perfume ($88) was created to be a scent of success. The fragrance encourages its wearers to manifest their desires, spraying it onto themselves when they achieve success, then use it again when next in need of success. This is said to lead the body to associate the fragrance with the feeling, resulting in the consumer feeling more confident with each wear. The perfume hosts notes of cherry, pink pepper, marshmallow, orris, vanilla, and more, combined to create a floral burst complemented by warm undertones.

Peace Out Skincare: Early Stage Acne Dot ($19) utilizes 2% salicylic acid, niacinamide, and succinic acid to tackle unclogged pores, reduce inflammation, fade hyperpigmentation, and control and balance excess sebum production. The product uses 430 tiny microneedles to penetrate and self-dissolve into the skin and allow a speedy healing process.

No Noses Inc: Crumb Couture Candle ($46) is inspired by the smell of hot buttered croissants, and carries notes of sweet berry jam accord, jasmine, sandalwood, orcanox (natural compound extracted from exhausted clary sage), croissant accord blended with tonka bean, and buttery musks. The candle comes after the brand debuted the scent as a fragrance and body butter in April, which sold out within 24 hours.

Hally: Brow Pal ($24) is a semi-permanent eyebrow tint that works to transform the color of hair in 10 minutes. The product's color lasts 3-5 days and was created after the brand found that several customers wanted a product that did not require them to have to apply makeup to their eyebrows daily. The tint is available in shades of Light Brown, Espresso, Black, and Midnight Blue.

Carla Seipp, Editor:

“My Q4 product picks range from the simply sensorially delightful to science-backed formulas that deliver results fast. I am a texture fiend when it comes to body care, and Whind’s jelly creations immediately drew me in. Speaking of lotions and potions—despite the viral rumor surrounding its alleged wolf spider-attracting qualities, which the brand debunked with a sense of humor I applaud—I would immediately grab the latest Sol de Janeiro body butter release. To me, the company has nailed the recipe on an incredible smelling and feeling body product. Having seen the immediate effects of their leave-in mask on my (very bleach-ravaged) hair, I trust anything K18 does and was intrigued by their new conditioner launch—plus points for developing your products according to customer feedback! As someone who always fills in their entire lips with lipliner to ensure optimal lipstick longevity, I can appreciate the design of Lip Lab’s new angled lip liner to speed up that process while not losing out on precision.”

Whind: Marrakech Silk Exfoliating Jelly Body Balm ($38) has a unique cocooning texture charged by finely milled argan pit and pumice that mimics the scrub of a kessa glove and deeply cleanses while buffing for glowing skin. Marrakech Gleam Illuminating Moisturizing Body Cream ($42) melts from a jelly texture to an oil when in contact with the skin, infused with natural extracts of hibiscus and acerola waters to lock in moisture all day, while light-reflective particles leave the skin glowing.

K18: Damage Shield Conditioner ($36) was created after consumer feedback requested options for a product to use on the days many were washing their hair but not using a conditioning mask. The conditioner is formulated with vitamin E, a ceramide blend, biotech-produced polysaccharide, and the brand’s proprietary K18 Peptide, which is said to be clinically proven to provide conditioning protection against damage from UV rays, mechanical styling, and environmental stressors for up to three days. The SKU is free from film-forming silicones and waxes, helping to maintain hair health and shine for longer.

Sol de Janeiro: Delicia Drench Body Butter ($22) is a whipped, ultra-rich body butter that supports the skin barrier by penetrating deep below the skin's surface to lock in moisture and relieve dry skin. The product contains bacuri butter, which works to replenish the skin's protective barrier, hyaluronic acid to provide instant and long-lasting hydration, and Sol de Janiero's Brazilian Soothing Complex, a blend of copaiba resin and passionflower seed oil that calms stressed skin, while prebiotic hibiscus nourishes the microbiome. The product is scented with the newest scent from the brand, Cheirosa '59, with notes of vanilla orchid, sugared violet, and sheer sandalwood.

Lip Lab: Sketch & Shade Precision Cream Lip Liner ($25) is a velvet-matte product with a uniquely angled tip for precise application and all-over shading. The product is available in six shades: Romantic Rose, a soft-pink neutral; Tonal Taupe, a light-brown neutral; Baroque Blush, a warm, natural pink; Mauve Motif, a deep, plum-brown; Modern Mocha, a warm, deep brown; and Realist Red, a blue-toned classic red. The lip liner is infused with oil for a smooth, easy-glide effect, leaving the lips soft.
